About the Lost Coins...
Perhaps you’re visiting this site, because you’ve received a mailing from Regency Christian Church that contained an actual lost coin. Or perhaps you’re here because you received a lost coin in a mug one Christmas season. Either way, we collected over 600 lost coins in 2008, and even more in 2009-10, from the Devon and Greater Edmonton areas as well as overseas. We put them all in a jar on the altar of our church, and prayed every week that Jesus’ parable of the Lost Coin in the Bible (see Luke, chapter 15) would become meaningful to people. Even now, we’re praying that God would call lost people to come “home” to Him. We’ve given our latest jar of coins to the Billy Graham Association’s Rock the River event, slated for late August 2010.
Jesus said...
“...what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbours, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost?’ Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” — Luke 15:8-10
Lost coins, when you think about it, are a lot like people:
They have many faces.
Some may be old.
Some may be new.
They may be different colours—
From different nations,
in different denominations.
They may be quite shiny.
They may also be muddied, tarnished, scarred, or
have just seen better days.
Some coins seem to get lost all by themselves;
While others have been discarded, as though virtually worthless.
But they all matter to God. He seeks to find that which is lost.
Do you need to come back to Jesus? If you died tonight, would you be confident that you’d be with Him in your eternal home?
Do you need a church home now— a place where you can begin again, sense transformation, and learn to live out whatever your calling in Christ Jesus is?
If you already have a church home, then you know this story. Please join with us at Regency Christian Church, then, in praying for lost people in our community, counties, country, and world.
But, if you haven’t been responding to the call of God on your life, and you need to start over, please continue on to the FOUND PAGE or call Regency Christian Church at the phone number above, and Pastor David will get back to you soon...
Because great things always happen when the lost are found, and truly come home...
“I once was lost, but now I’m found...”
