About the Logo
The odd person has freaked about our logo— thinking it’s sort of “new agey” or something. Please, people...
For the record, the Regency Christian Church logo is a modified triquetra and ring design. A triquetra is formed from the conjunction of three equal circles, and hence, is an ancient symbol of the Holy Trinity. Interwoven into the triquetra is a ring, which is mostly of gold, and includes the triangular top portion which resembles a jewel-setting. The ring represents the eternal nature of the Trinity, and is also a reminder that the Church is the Bride of Christ. Moreover, it hearkens to the parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15), specifically verse 22, where the Father gives the lost son the family signet ring of authority, much like Pharaoh gave to Joseph as a sign of his regency in Genesis 41:42
The jewel setting doubles as the tail portion for a fish, whose letters in Greek, ICTHUS, stand for "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Saviour", and reminds us of Jesus' desire that we fish for people. The tail portion of the fish is also the tail of the descending dove, a symbolic representation of the Holy Spirit and His desire to empower Christ's Church.
Bisecting the fish, ring setting, and dove, is, of course, the cross-- the ultimate sign of God's love for us, our forgiveness, and Christ's resurrection triumph over death. It is depicted in purple, to remind us of the royal servanthood of Christ Jesus.
